Sunday 25th August 2024.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Battle Abbey our first ever one day music festival. Some nationally recognised Tribute Bands grace the Abbey grounds with their presence. Expect authentic and fabulous sets from ‘Blondied’ (Blondie) ‘With the Beatles’ (no explanation needed) ‘The Rolling Clones’ (again no explanation needed) ‘David Live’ (David Bowie) and ‘Mercury’ (Queen). Something for everyone and guaranteed fun.

What’s all this about?

Taking place over the August Bank Holiday 2024, the very best tribute bands, beer and food come to the grounds of Battle Abbey.

We are super excited to secure the ridiculously stunning Battle Abbey to host us (you should see the room where the bar is).

Beautiful it is indeed, but, honestly, it’s the only suitable back drop for a stellar line up featuring some Nationally recognised Tribute acts. It really is too much for a Sunday. Even if it is a Bank Holiday.

Opening at 2pm (first band 2.30pm or so) you should be well on the way home by by 11pm, tickets are available from the link below and are available at £35 for adults, £10 for under 14s and free for the under 5s. All tickets are available through Online Ticket Sales (subject to booking fee). Follow us on Instagram for updates on @battlefieldsfestival2024 or on Facebook at Battlefields Festival for updates. See you in August (or drop us a message using the contact form if you simply cant wait).

Sponsors Partners and Advertisers.

This wouldn’t be possible with a selection of lovely local and regional suppliers, sponsors, advertisers, vendors and services all very close to our hearts. Love you guys! Our Sponsors list will grow as we add them in - we are still securing support! If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor contact us via the form below.

Food & drink.

We are delighted to have Camper Catering from Tenterden on board whose first of two vans will be providing Panko chicken goujons, Grilled halloumi brioche, 6 ounce gourmet burgers/cheeseburgers, 12" Cumberland Posh Dogs, chicken dishes and Crispy vegan patties. The other ( a really fab coverted VW Camper), will serve up Gin and Prosecco! We also welcome (the even more local) Coffee Leonati who will bring their funky Coffee Cab and Pizza wagon to proceedings. Also expect Chapper’s Cheesecake to bring the sweet treats, while Mega Monster Wraps will be bringing Korean, Mexican and Greek flavours to proceedings (as well as some tastes from closer to home). No event would be complete without an Ice Cream Van and we will have traditional vendor Tonibell to cover this for us. Also expect a Hog Roast provided by the Abbey’s dedicated event catering team. We love all these guys and are made up to have them attend.

FAQs

Sounds good how do I buy a ticket?

Tickets are available via Online Ticket Sales. on https://www.onlineticketseller.com/events/54092 We launched with some super early bird sales late 2023 and have sold a lot. Tickets are £25 for an adult (plus booking fee) until March 1st. Childen under 14 are £10 a ticket and under 5s go free. Be warned though the price will go up after March 1st and we have a ceiling on maximum numbers, so when they’re gone, they’re gone.

How can I get to Battle?

We would advise the train which, bar another rail strike, leaves Battle for Hastings at quarter to the hour. You might make the 10.45pm train, but if not you can always catch the 11.45pm (accurate at time of publication but it’s worth checking!) Going up country to Tunbridge Wells your last train leaves at 11.07pm. If you’re coming from further north than Tunbridge Wells best check your train options in advance. Battle station is a 15 minute walk from the Abbey gate, so you should be well in time for the train and home in time for a decent nights sleep. Taxis would also be a good option. We will have some numbers up on the info point at the Festival.

Can I park in Battle?

Short answer yes, though we would advise ditching the car and getting public transport - not just because we are trying to make this a green festival but because parking on a summer Bank Holiday in Battle can be a bit of a nightmare. Limited parking is available in the English Heritage carpark and in the slightly bigger (but not by much) Mount Street.

What time are the doors?

We open at 2pm, as does the bar, and we are expecting the first band on ‘Blondied’ at 2.30/2.45pm. We will shut at 11pm but the bands will be wrapped up a fair bit before that in all likelihood, probably nearer 10.00pm. Last admission for the event will be 8.00pm.

where do i actually go then?

Come to the big castle-looking gate house at the end of Battle High Street TN33 0AD. You really cant miss it. Some of our friendly hand-picked stewards will be on hand to let you in whilst offering reassuring smiles.

Can i buy tickets on the door?

Come on, we are going to sell out before then, have you seen the line up and location? If by some bizarre twist of fate we get a load returned we may have some available on the door but I wouldn’t rely on it.

Can i smoke on site?

The main crowd area is smoke free, same goes for vapes, though we have a dedicated smoking area. You can’t see the stage from this area but it does have commanding views of the Battlefield. It’s almost worth taking up smoking! But seriously don’t take up smoking.

what if my friend has a turn on site?

We will have St. Johns ambulance onsite to offer you restorative tinctures.

Can I bring my own food?

You can bring a bit but don’t take the mickey. A huge picnic with candelabras will be confiscated (and eaten) by staff.

Can I bring my own drinks?

No - we will be having that on entry. Particularly alcoholic ones. Do feel free to bring a refillable water bottle (empty) which you can fill on site.

Can I bring the kids?

Yes of course! All are welcome but anyone under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Help I’ve lost the kids!

Our Marshalls and security staff will naturally assist any lost children on site and bring them to the information point for collection. All children under 14 will have the parents contact number written on a wristband on entry by our Marshalls to facilitate a quick reunion. If you have lost your child (ren) please go to the information point where, if they are not there already, we will begin to make our search of the grounds from. We will also make an anouncement from the stage as soon as possible.

if i block book a lot of tickets do i get a discount?

Don’t push your luck.

Can my Carer have a Ticket?

If you have restricted mobility and rely on a carer please contact us via the form below to discuss your requirements.

Can I come and go from the venue?

In line with most of the larger festivals there is no readmission to the venue for ticket holders unless by prior arrangement. Contact us for more information on this.

Does my ticket include access to English Heritage?

No. The Abbey ruins and Battlefield are only accessible via a ticket purchased from English Heritage. The festival ticket will just get you access to the festival site in the School grounds.

What if it absolutely pours down?

We will do everything in our power to make this work. If we have some unseasonable hurricanes we may struggle due to the open nature of the site. If we get wind (no pun intended) of this in advance we will try and refund everyone but a splash of rain, I mean, come on, you can handle that right?

can I bring my dog?

Sadly no, even well behaved pooches will cause us grief from an insurance point of view.

can i pay in cash or by card or both?

For simplicities sake we are publicly decreeing this a card only festival. Cash may be taken by some of our catering concessions, that will be up to them, but not at the main bar where both speed and effciiency in getting you your beverage of choice will be the sole priority.
